There are a number of opportunities for the youth of Ridgefield to participate in baseball.
Ridgefield Little League provides recreational and travel baseball opportunties for youth up to the age of 12 years old. Most of our players at the high school have played in Ridgefield Little League. You can learn more at http://www.ridgefieldlittleleague.org/
Ridgefield Babe Ruth provides recreational, travel and summer baseball opportunites for the youth of Ridgefield. Players participate in 13-Prep and 15-U divisions during the spring season, as well as select teams during the summer. Many of our HS players will join Babe Ruth teams at the end of their HS season and continue to participate throughout the summer. Additionally, the Ridgefield Rays 18-U program and Ridgefield River Bandits 23-U team afford older players opportunities to continue playing after they age out of younger divisions. Ridgefield American Legion Post 78 sponsors two American Legion Baseball teams: a 19-U Senior Legion team and a 17-U Junior Legion team. Both teams are typically comprised of high school-aged players from Ridgefield (and occasionally surrounding towns without Legion programs). Legion baseball seasons are often compact, yet filled with games against strong opponents from many towns in the FCIAC, with play starting at the conclusion of the HS season.
